In JUST the last 10 years, the School District and
Borough
have spent in excess of
ONE QUARTER OF 1 BILLION dollars
on maintenance, renovation & upgrades to our area
schools
* Keep in mind the above figure does NOT
include the numerous new schools that have been built in the last few years,
or are being built now.
**The above figure also does not include interest, which adds nearly 50%
more cost to each bond.
The quarter of a billion came from various bond issues put to the voters, as
well as ongoing borough funding, and an annual School District maintenance
budget of approximately 15 million dollars.
Why then, does the Fairbanks School
District, year after year,
tell us our schools are falling apart?
It is time to stop mortgaging your children’s future and
start asking where all this previous money has gone. Enough is enough!
Obviously the school district has no concern for the homeowners and
taxpayers of this community. Instead, their concern seems to be in funding a
jobs program for school district employees.
Please Vote NO on PROPOSITIONS 1 and
2!
